OH LAWD THIS GUY. I'm cackling. You unlocked a core memory with this one.

That aside, DavidKawena was one of those artists on DeviantArt who you'd see on the front page almost all the time during the site's zeitgeist. No lie, he was pretty good at the time, though. Wonder whatever happened to him, he never really took his art career in the kind of direction that contemporaries like Loish, Rahll, etc. did (i.e. ditching fan art to do original material).

Also, this reminds me of that period of time where people would farm engagement by drawing "Disney... but X" and they actually put some effort into it (whereas today, it'd be AI slop). Ah, memories.
