I absolutely love the Kenobi series. It's one of my favorite SW projects and definitely my favorite of the Disney SW.

But it was never going to be universally beloved because everyone had a different opinion on what it should be. Even before the project was announced and there was just speculation that there could be something about Kenobi, people were arguing about whether it should definitely have Vader or definitely not, or he should stay on Tatooine or leave because Tatooine is boring, should there be loads of cameos or new characters, etc.

And then the marketing focused on 'the big re-match between Obi-Wan and Vader'. Which is understandable as people love the prequel fights and Vader, but the show wasn't really about that. It was about Obi-Wan dealing with everything that happened.

I personally love that, and would love 5 more seasons, but it's not what other fans wanted/expected. Though tbh, I don't think it's as disliked as the internet would have people believe.
