Re: Trader Joe's

Close enough to me! They discontinued my absolute favorite thing, the lasagna soup they had for a while, but I do have a few other favorites.

-Italian turkey meatloaf, particularly when combined with the rosemary bread. I can't eat red meat anymore without becoming ill, since having my gallbladder out, and this really scratches the meatloaf itch, as that was a favorite dish.

-Cat Cookies For People. I love them, I can eat them (no peanut cross-contamination, had to give up buying previous favorite cookies over that issue), they look cute, and the name delights me.

-Jumeokbap! It's SO good. They also had a good beefless bulgogi, and my sister is a huge fan of the gimbap and the japchae-- all in all, they have some really fantastic Korean food right now. But the jumeokbap is my personal fave. For other Asian options, I really liked the orange not-chicken (I can eat chicken, my sister can't, so we picked up the vegetarian version, but I think it's got the same great flavor), the scallion pancakes, and the little custard taiyaki.

-I get the little liege waffles for quick and easy breakfast-on-the-go, and I really love the strawberry ones they have right now. And their peach-orange-mango juice is my go-to for juice.

-Pineapple chicken teriyaki meatballs, huge win. I get that and the hawaiian style rolls for sliders and that's my lunches for the week. I also love the chicken taquitos. I know some people complain they're bland but some chicken taquitos still contain beef/pork and so I can't digest them, and others are *too* spicy and as much as my mouth likes them, they trigger my acid reflux, so a bland taquito is kind of not a problem for me.

-The apple sourdough bread. Last fall, I was talking about seasonal flavors with the checkout guy and he said I had to try it, and he was RIGHT. I would never have thought about combining sourdough with sweet, but it provides a really nice balance.

-The shelf stable gnocchi is something I like to keep in my pantry, you can drop 'em in a soup or bake 'em in a casserole with the sauce and veg of your choice (good with a marinara but also really good with cheese sauce and broccoli!)... I also go to Trader Joe's for other pantry staples whenever I can, because some things are cheaper there.

I'm definitely forgetting something... it's funny, I was literally there yesterday-- oh! Herb pizza dough was my main thing to pick up yesterday! Got it recently for the first time and immediately it became a staple for me, I'll be making veggie-loaded pizzas for the rest of the farmers' market season (and if I can't find the veg I'm looking for there, well, Trader Joe's has all the veggies I need),
