Small Disappointments

My local pizza place was closed today so I had to get Pizza Hut instead. What small disappointments have you dealt with recently?

Some guy's penis.

Don't ask.

I had this fancy-looking bar of lemon soap, made in Italy, smelled great! I was so excited to use it.

Well, it does smell nice, but the smell doesn't stick to your skin at all. That would still be fine BUT this is possibly the most drying soap I have ever used in my life. It feels like it stripped 100% of the oil off my skin, and I'm usually pretty oily-skinned. Like this would leave me dried out if I kept using it. It reminds me of some complimentary soap I used from a cheap hotel that did the same thing with drying you out badly. Like I bought the cheapest bar soap I could find at a dollar store. I'm probably going to quit using it because it's probably going to leave me dry and itchy even though it's really humid and my skin is never dry in the summer because it's so humid here.

Let it dry and tuck it into your towels or linens to scent them instead.

That's a really good idea.

Speaking of pizza. Awhile back at work someone brought some pizza in, and I ate a piece of it and thought it was the best pizza. It was sooo good. So I finally decided to try that pizza place myself last night and it was just meh. Not terrible by any means but just the most average pizza ever. I guess maybe that first day that I had it, I was really hungry, so it tasted better than it did when I wasn't that hungry.

Lately I've had a pizza itch that I just can't scratch. I've tried the big chains, local places, small chains, and none of it is what I want.

What do you look for in a good pizza?

That's a good question! I think my problem with all the pizza I've had lately is that it has been kind of bland. I want it to have more flavor, better flavor. If I had to pin down the main problem, I'd say it's that the sauce is just very generic and needs more seasoning or spices. Secondary problem, is that the crust is meh. The cheese and toppings have been fairly good, but still the flavor, while not bad, hasn't been exciting.

My local Aldi is out of their plain whole milk greek yogurt for the third or fourth week running. I don't like the flavored kind as much, and low fat/nonfat yogurt makes me sad.

It's been hit or miss at my Aldi, too. And when I did score some whole milk plain a couple weeks ago, it was off despite the date. Which I discovered 12 hours later. :/

Individuals are 5 for $5 at my Food Lion right now, so I'm stocking up.

Somebody gave me a scented candle. It smells great. I can't light candles in my home because it makes the damn smoke alarm go off.

I had this problem with a candle that had a wooden wick. It smelled really nice and was probably expensive, but it would set the smoke detector off right away. It really sucks that you can't burn any candles at all, though! You could maybe get a candle warmer? They make ones that have a lamp on the top that melts the candle so you get the scent but not the fire, soot, smoke, etc.
