This is so valid and fair. I really prefer that type of romance too. I like to have some buildup to it, vs just immediate instant attraction.

This is exactly why I don't like romance media. This is what it would take for me to believe the romance most of the time, but I also probably got bored way before that. So I'm much happier where romance are side plots and I can ship, but where the central plot is something else.
