Re: What are your hobbies?
(Anonymous) 2026-05-21 01:54 am (UTC)(link)My other hobbies are... well, I love baking (and cooking, though that one is also... you know, a thing I do so the family can eat). I custom paint dolls and gaming figures. I draw and write (current obsession for both is a character of my own instead of a fandom for once-- a D&D character I haven't had the chance to play yet and can't even have on deck for if my current guy dies because he'd be a disastrous addition to the party both mechanically and personally). I have not done live theatre in a long time so I have to scratch that itch by watching streams of plays, or improv shows, and just reading plays and thinking about how I'd do them. Or... well, I guess theatre and gaming overlap in terms of embodying a D&D character, when I'm lucky! And I really enjoy cross stitch and sometimes freehand embroidery or small sewing projects, though those all also require my hands to be good.*
*My hand issue is that they get horrid eczema patches, not joint pain-- the eczema CAN make hand movement painful, but the real issue for using yarn, thread, and fabric is that the roughness of my skin snags everything and I feel very Gross if I think that it's going to flake off on my yarn as I go. So while I might be able to draw or even paint while my hands are bad, I can't do fiber arts.
I also collect things-- pins, dice, neat rocks, trivia... and of course collecting craft supplies is its own hobby, though I am currently no-buy on craft supplies until I use up a lot more of what I have, and while journaling for me is LARGELY a functional thing, I still get some hobby enjoyment out of it! And while film is not the same as live theatre I do sometimes enjoy doing a really deep dive analyzing... usually ONE character, the actor's choices, what I think those choices say about the character's internal life, etc, what I might do if I was tasked with bringing that character to life.
Re: What are your hobbies?
Another horror fan. Needlefelting isn't bad until you stab yourself. Then it is horrible. My sister does cross stitch but I don't have the patience for it.
