I don’t disagree. But if that’s the definition people are using… I guess it’s worth re-evaluating the significance of “bullying”. It suggests to me that it’s a bigger umbrella that includes behavior I think of as merely rude as well as behavior I’d consider actually abusive and totally unacceptable in any online setting.

Hmm to me bullying must include a power imbalance. If it's between equals, it's just someone being rude. Which isn't a good thing either obviously but not bullying.

A boss tries to leverage their corporate role, or a "popular" coworker tries to leverage their social status and work friend group to coerce you into shutting up about your love life? Bullying. A coworker of totally equal rank to you expresses a wish, or some rando on the street tells you to shut the fuck up? Not bullying, rude tho

Interesting discussion.

Do you think antis display bullying behavior by using an arguable power imbalance (moral high ground) to control others?

I'm not comparing antis to trans users and allies here who understandably feel upset by HP content. But I sometimes wonder if we have some bad faith actors here who are using the transphobe umbrella to troll or to try to make the trans community seem a little unhinged. I mean, at least once a week there's a secret about someone being mad about HP secrets, and I guess I don't understand the intent.

I think antis can display bullying behavior. Deliberately summoning totally unrelated people to brigade a post and harass a poster through superior numbers is bullying for sure. However if someone posts something unpopular and the regular members of the community disagree angrily, or you post an angry opinion that only speaks for yourself, I don't think that counts as a power imbalance being wielded by someone. In the same vein a lone anti being angry by themselves ranting in a public Discord channel is not bullying anyone. Still rude tho obviously
