Sorry Date Everything fandom, I really don't get the appeal of Mac - especially after making us delete our fanfiction without an option to back everything up on a usb or something.

This might sound mean but it's likely a good number of people who are ~suuuper into~ this character are being performative to a degree. Because a wheelchair using they/them is pretty high on the "look how progressive I am for liking this character in particular" scale - the only way to amp this up even more would be to make them brown or black (with optional vitiligo).

Could also be that they are a computer, from a game that lots of people play on a computer and may therefore really be into computers. (Is Connie also super popular? I'm not in the fandom really.)

I mainly like them because they are they/them and so am I. The wheelchair doesn't matter to me either way. A lot of us enbies will love another enby because there are so few to choose from. Hmm... is that performative or the opposite?

Though, I also don't think they're bad-looking and found them pretty fun to talk to.

+1

The mac fandom was/is know for being extremely pretentious. I'm honestly more surprised they had a Mac as the option rather than PC, given games generally have to be fitted to work on mac, and judging by his design alone, he definitely doesn't look like a mac in any shape or form.

The character design looks like they might be my type physically, like my honest impression is that they're cute, but the dialogue is super odd, in context they could be appealing or not depending on the character and story. Also they make you delete your fanfiction?! Not familiar with the fandom but intrigued by this secret.

The dialogue is like that because the character is literally a personified computer, if that helps. That's also why they make you delete your fanfic, it's because they need to free up space for an upgrade and the player character has a purposely extreme amount of gigs used up storing fanfic.

Lol, that's a fun character concept. In context it could work for me or not.

Oh man, did they miss the opportunity to make him into that obnoxious douchebag a la those Mac commercials back in the 2000's. I am so disappointed! That would have been such a cheeky easter egg since I KNOW people shipped him back in the day!
