Yeah, same. I was unemployed for most of my 20s due to disability. I did get to do some fun things I can't do now as a full timer, but not only does spending every day at home or doing errands get boring... but when you have unmedicated ADHD, it gets overwhelming to have all the free time in the world, but no executive function to sit and Watch The Things or Play The Games. I just cycled through what I already liked.

Yeah, there's a reason so many people retire only to go back to working part-time or volunteering. My coworker and his husband are both like that - they retired for a couple of years, did some traveling and other things they'd always wanted to do, but then wound up getting bored. My coworker is now working part-time and his husband has a volunteer thing he does.

I don't understand this at all. If I didn't have to worry about money I would never get bored. I don't really know anyone who works just because they're bored, only people who need the income. I do know people who volunteer and join social groups for the mental health, but that is different than a job.
