Because I'm getting tons of PMs and stuff about this: stuff featuring actual porn of lolicon/shota/whatever will be linked, or was supposed to be just linked, just like every other secret featuring explicit porn. But sometimes I make mistakes and a secret gets by that should have been just linked. If a secret is posted that should be linked or warned for, notify me in the name the fandom thread and I'll fix it as soon as I can.

Unfortunately, secrets about lolicon/shota will not be banned because some people think it's wrong or gross or whatever. Some people think fic about rape or gore is wrong or gross or whatever. Some people think slash is wrong or gross or whatever. I'm sure everyone agrees that actual child porn is a bad thing. Lolicon/shota is not actual child porn.

Once again, I'm sorry for letting #127 get past my radar yesterday, and will try not to let it happen again.

I'm not jumping down your throat here, so don't get me wrong. I'm not saying your wrong - opposite, you're completely right, but it goes both ways. While it's a mistake to assume that the same kind of rules that apply in the US apply everywhere, it's also a mistake to assume that websites on the internet, especially websites as free and open as Livejournal, are always going to - or even be able to - adhere to and observe the rules and regulations of every country it may be being accessed from. In this case, it becomes just as much your responsibility as a user of the site as it is the mod's responsibility. He does his best to try and filter things out and keep everyone safe, and sometimes he makes a mistake, but at the same time you are aware of what you are getting into when you come into a community or a post like this, and should be aware that things might slip through the cracks.

I'm not so sure the comparison is applicable but I'll try it anyways - there are likely (lol I'm not searching) entire communities on LJ dedicated to lolicon or whatever that LJ's terms of service watchdogs don't catch, just like there are file sharing communities. This is also illegal, and turns up not only on communities strictly for it, but many others as well, and personal journals. Whether you choose to click the link is up to you. So at the same time, I think it's a good idea to just be aware that things like this may turn up and be careful of what you do and where you go yourself.

Does this make sense?

The internet is a scary place. You should always be carefu and awarel of what you do and where you go. It's unfortunate, but it's true.
