Because I'm getting tons of PMs and stuff about this: stuff featuring actual porn of lolicon/shota/whatever will be linked, or was supposed to be just linked, just like every other secret featuring explicit porn. But sometimes I make mistakes and a secret gets by that should have been just linked. If a secret is posted that should be linked or warned for, notify me in the name the fandom thread and I'll fix it as soon as I can.

Unfortunately, secrets about lolicon/shota will not be banned because some people think it's wrong or gross or whatever. Some people think fic about rape or gore is wrong or gross or whatever. Some people think slash is wrong or gross or whatever. I'm sure everyone agrees that actual child porn is a bad thing. Lolicon/shota is not actual child porn.

Once again, I'm sorry for letting #127 get past my radar yesterday, and will try not to let it happen again.

You are a god. 'Nuff said.

[identity profile] leapscotch.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I just laugh at the people whomade a big deal about it. Talk about getting their panties in a knot.
Thanks for all the hard work :)

I was just about to say that.

There was really no need for all the "Letters to the Editor".

Thank you for this, it did make me go AH but everyone makes mistakes and it must be a very difficult job so thanks for trying!

Honestly, I was more concerned with the fact that material is illegal to possess or view in some countries than "omg think of the mutant blobby cartoon children."

Someone needed to point it out. Other people needed to support it. No idea about the PMing business, but hey.

[identity profile] zanzou-chan.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Totally. Especially because I didn't, myself, find the images that BAD. There was no lolicon sex happening, and I couldn't get past the gore of the guro pic to notice what age the girl was at all.

[identity profile] saramiskismet.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Seeing an image of a naked girl crying after being raped by an older man upsets me, and my panties are in a knot?

Yeahh ok. You might not have been offended since, yeah, it's just a drawing it's not real, but it upset me and I don't think it's funny. That stuff can be triggering for some people with bad experiences, too. I didn't get mad at technophile cos I figured it was a mistake and it's no big deal that it slipped, but I didn't want to see it. :\

[identity profile] furious.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Shit happens. It's amazing enough that you do all this for us as it is, I don't see why people feel the need to fly off the handle at a simple mistake. It happens, it was found and fixed.

Thank you for all the time and effort you put into the community. ♥

[identity profile] lady-wormtongue.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
No worries, [livejournal.com profile] technophile. You do so much awesome work that the occasional slip is no big deal. :)

[identity profile] ink-tree.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Well! I, for one, am switching over to fandomstatements.

[It wasn't a big deal. Thanks for your constant diligence!]

To err is human, and perfection is for the divine.

Thank you for what you do.

This. That image brought up some bad stuff for me. I know FS isn't my safe space, but I really wanted to spend last night enjoying myself instead of calming myself down from bad memories.

When I first saw this post, I thought "Oh, so the drama continues!"
But after reading through it, I'm relieved to see how civil the people here are actually being :)

Mistakes happen to everyone.

Sorry for all the shit you're getting. :(

Aren't you cool as a cucumber.

(Anonymous) 2009-12-16 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It's no big deal that you made a mistake, but people who are saying we got our panties in a knot for getting upset over seeing something potentially triggering/illegal are being quite the douchebags themselves.

Let me decide what I find offensive and what not, alright?

[identity profile] spudjuice.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
While I understand that mistakes are made, please take extra-special care in future. To be honest, I was surprised that it slipped through, given that you must pay attention to the secret contents just to filter out the not-secrets, too bigs and broken links!

As a couple of anons pointed out, the material is against the law in certain major countries, including Canada, Australia, Sweden, Ireland and, soon, the UK - it's not merely a matter of being a "squick." It is covered under child pornography laws and dealt with accordingly, no matter how "not real" it is.

Personally, I was a bit nauseated by it, even though the image wasn't that explicit. Bit of a Do Not Want.

[identity profile] aurorn.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd like to think the above person wasn't saying that being upset over seeing the image was "having panties in a knot", it was blaming the mod for missing one that was the thing to be mocked.
