When I find out someone I meet is in the medical field, I like asking which medical show they find the most realistic. Oftentimes, they say Scrubs, funnily enough.

Well, yeah. All the others are pure fantasy where doctors know what they’re talking about and spend more than 30 seconds talking to you and saying something other than “lose weight and you’ll feel better.” The nurses are similarly competent and compassionate and not Benadryl addicts who had a 6 week course that made them “nurses.”

i dated a guy whose mom was a nurse, and she said the same. the medical diagnoses, how situations were handled, etc. were all more accurate than any other show

My mum is a retired nurse and lack of realism annoys her, so the only fictional medical show she watches is Call the Midwife...but only up until the 1970s era!

I went to school at a well-known nursing school in my state, so inevitably I now know a lot of folks in the medical field. A lot of them said Scrubs is the most realistic, as opposed to say, Grey's Anatomy or whatever. Nowadays the Pitt seems to be getting that cred, but with the Scrubs continuation, it might become the popular answer again.

I consider myself to be a devoted Disney fan, but I refuse to watch any of the Cars movies. They don't appeal to me at all and I find the art ugly.

Same. Then again, I haven't seen the Toy Story movies beyond 2. And I haven't seen several of the newer ones.

I am not a Disney fan but have nephews born in the mid 2000s so I have seen the first way one too many times! Oddly never the second one (they didn't have it on dvd) and the third one just twice.

I kind of feel sorry for all the people who wrote fic featuring Pantalone because a LOT of headcanons have been nuked by the newest AC. But then again, they were kind of asking for it writing fic about an unreleased character who only had the barest trace amounts of info about himself known before.

I feel like besides the whole immortality vial thing, their dynamic wasn't too off from what a lot of the (more serious) shipping fandom was hoping for. For amoral old men who trust no one and whose own goals would always supercede any care for others or even the world, they were incredibly friendly and amicable. Zandik asking after Pantalone was surprisingly sweet. As I saw someone post, their interactions were very yaoiful.

Also I'm just going to say that knowing Feofan was sold by a gang (presumably money lenders) to Zandik as a test subject and THAT was their first meeting... oh man, that sort of backstory is worth it's weight in gold for all the plot bunnies it breeds.

I have spent more time than I want to admit trying to turn one of my favorite movies into a D&D one-shot. It's not an easy fit, mechanically speaking. My group is currently halfway through the campaign my friend is running, and I haven't volunteered for future DM duties. It's a very silly passion project...

So why do I care this much?

I got a review on AO3 that basically said,

"I hate [thing], it makes me physically ill. I saw that your fic contains [thing] and checked it out only to find that it does indeed contain [thing]. I am now physically ill and it's your fault."

And the thing is, this made me feel so bad. It made ME physically ill that I was responsible for this person's suffering. I got cramps, I was nauseous, my entire evening was ruined.
But at the same time, it also made me laugh a little whenever I really thought about it, because [thing] is described as a central theme in the story's summary. There are at least three different tags referring to [thing]. The entire premise of the story revolves around [thing].

I don't know, buddy - I feel like this one is on you.

There is a recent trend for franchises to release open-world games that are lighter on gameplay but heavier on customization. (Animal Crossing, Tomodachi Life, Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom are examples.) Which is great for people who love customization but not so great for those of us who prefer more structured gameplay, objectives, and goals. It's really cool if you want to be able to go everywhere or customize everything down to the ground, but if you don't really care about those things, these games don't have as much to do as earlier games in the franchises.
