...off topic, but Benadryl addicts? In what way? That stuff turns me into a zombie; half a pill and i'm down for the count. What is it doing for these people? Or ARE they taking it to sleep?

Benadryl abuse makes you stoned and won’t get flagged during drug screening. It’s very common to mix it with wine when off the clock, too.

It is a 'lights out, you're unconscious' effect for me. And then a sort of hangover in the morning, all cotton-mouthed and woozy. I hate it. For allergy emergencies only!

Interesting, I've known a couple people who abused Benadryl at higher doses for the purpose of inducing hallucinations (apparently a very unpleasant and uncomfortable trip, with harsh physical side effects). I actually didn't know of this usage.

The person I'm still friends with who used to abuse Benadryl has some negative effects on their health to this day, they were in a really bad place with substance use in general when they were using it. Taking the recommended dose puts me to sleep and makes me feel sick, so I never experimented with it, maybe for the best.
