Data centers are significantly less harmful to the environment than animal agriculture, really wondering when I'll start seeing like 1% as much hate for that as I do for AI.

Joking aside, this thread is really interesting to me because I thought FS would be more likely to attract people who are aware data centers aren’t just for generative AI and that not all AI is generative AI. I also thought this would be a crowd that knew that modern agriculture practices are destroying our planet faster than everything else combined.

Yeah, it's weird. These opinions aren't mutually exclusive and people can hold multiple at once. And this is coming from someone who is fine with non-generative AI.
