Uh, frankly I would've been weirded out and disappointed if her mom had been a main focus at that point in the movie. At that point Tiana is an adult and capable of solving her own problems.

Her mom was part of her backstory. The movie was "The Princess and the Frog" not "Tiana and Her Mom." Watch Goofy Movie if you want a movie about a parent and their child conquering something together. Watch a Princess romance if you want a couple doing it together. Jasmine didn't go to her dad. Mulan didn't call her dad. Etc, etc, etc.

I think the point is more "why wasn't she concerned at all about how her mom would feel if her only daughter turned up missing?", and while I agree with your point, I also agree with OP that it was a bit strange that she didn't seem to care at all that her mom was probably worried sick about her.

Tiana might have been a little more worried about the fact that she was stuck in the middle of the bayou in a magically induced frog state.

Valid point, but I still find it odd that her mother didn't cross her mind even once.

Considering that Tiana works day and night and hardly makes it home before running off to her next job... her mom might not realize she's not around. And since Tiana probably already quit her jobs in anticipation of the restaurant, they might not have come a'callin' either...

And it might have crossed Tiana's mind, but there's only so much dialog to use, especially since at the beginning of her transformation into a frog, she spent every minute escaping from certain peril left and right!

Out of the story, bringing up her mom then would've screwed with the pacing of the movie miserably, shifted the focus from Tiana and the prince bonding to something they'd already aptly covered, changed the entire slap stick/fun tone of them as frogs making their way through the swamp and getting character development to something more stressful.

In the story, she was probably very stressed out. Her main focus was obviously 'get this fixed' and I think she would've seen talking to her mom about it as an act of giving up, making the frog thing a more permanent state, not just temporary unpleasantness.
