I'm still miffed that there are a lot of New Who fans that didn't even try to watch the first series with Nine/Ecclescake (with reasons like "he's not that good-looking" tse tse) :( Personally, he's my Doctor and I'm glad he did at least that one epic series (which is still the best of New Who imo).

I kinda hope he will get his career back on track though, GI Joe was a disaster.

I read (on either TVTropes or Moviephone---or possibly both) that it is apparently going to have a sequel. I shall watch for him and tell myself that it is merely Nine working off some aggression from the Time War before he feels bad about and becomes Claude and reprents before he can move on as the Doctor. And his pretty face will heal. I think TVTropes helped me work that out.

I'm not sure how people can start the new show without watching season one with Eccleston - they miss the whole reintroduction of all the elements of the series.

I'm partway through season one after sporadically watching random episodes in the past few years and I feel like I understand things a lot better now.

I know quite a few people that refused to watch the first season. Some said they tried like one or two episode, but couldn't get into it for random reasons (mostly they didn't like Ecclescake's take on the Doctor... or that he wasn't good looking enough...)

S1 was the only season/series where I wasn't disappointed in the finale xD And The Doctor Dances is still one of my favourite tv episodes ever of any show.

So they somehow missed "The End of the World?" That was the first Nine episode I ever found (I'd already watched one Ten episode, "The Girl in the Fireplace," so they're both technically my Doctor) and it's still pretty much my favorite episode ever. That episode has everything---great humor, great-looking aliens, witty banter, a crazy villain---isn't that what Doctor Who is all about?

Yes, the S1 finale is the only one that felt satisfying, and even though it technically had a Deus Ex Machina, it didn't feel as ridiculous as the others. "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" are amazing---"Are you my mummy?" still gives me the chills. And all of the Doctor/Jack moments are so much fun.
