New poll (as the other was misleading for some) after taking what everyone had to say into account. Some things have changed:

The grouping will only be for the big fandoms, if it happens i.e. if there are more than 5 secrets of the same fandom in the same day's batch. So if there were 20 Doctor Who secrets, they would be grouped together. If there were 4 Supernatural secrets, they would be kept random.

The rest of the post would be random as usual, so the randomness would never be completely lost.

The secrets will continue to be picked in random order from the week's batch.

The problem is grouping EVERYTHING is way too much work, because it means I'm going to have to note down the fandom for every single secret as I go. If there are a bunch of the same fandom, it's easy enough to just find those again and move them together, but keeping every single series together (especially when I don't KNOW the series)? Nah.

Maybe you should ask people to always note the series? Frankly, I think that's a good idea, anyway. [shrug]

And if they don't, then don't post the secrets? That'd end up in a LOT of secrets not posted, and a lot more copy-pasting work. I'm willing to put the fandom if people note them, but to be completely honest it's a lot more work than when they don't.

Oh, yeah, I guess it would be, huh? Duh. Ok.

I'm spamming, but I have to ask- if you know it's too much work (and please, EVERYONE knows it- you have a life and it should be taken up with LJ) why are you even offering the grouping option?

Don't group. Seriously. This comm is supposed to be fun and not this great big thing- you're not getting paid for it, and as far as I know you haven't asked us to help pay for server support, so really- it's not worth it to add this extra burden.

I don't like every secret, but I have NEVER scrolled through an entry and NOT found something interesting or thought to myself "DAMN, THAT WAS A WASTE OF TIME." Ever. Part of the fun of checking the posts is looking for that one thing you can comment on or that provokes thought, even if the fandom isn't your cuppa.

Don't cater to us. Keep posting and making us do a little bit of work on our own.

I said grouping everything was too much work, not grouping the big fandoms. That's pretty easy, hahaha. If it were too much work, I wouldn't offer in the first place!

Oh *facepalm* Here I am being all "RESPECT THE MODS" and perpetrating some MAJOR FAIL.

I still think it's way more than you need to do, though. Nice of you to offer, of course!
