New poll (as the other was misleading for some) after taking what everyone had to say into account. Some things have changed:

The grouping will only be for the big fandoms, if it happens i.e. if there are more than 5 secrets of the same fandom in the same day's batch. So if there were 20 Doctor Who secrets, they would be grouped together. If there were 4 Supernatural secrets, they would be kept random.

The rest of the post would be random as usual, so the randomness would never be completely lost.

The secrets will continue to be picked in random order from the week's batch.

i'm going to have to say no, and for one big reason. i LOVE the really screwy crack secrets that come up on here from time to time, and i don't want to risk missing one by skimming past 20 secrets for a fandom i don't care about (which is a lot of fandoms, mostly TV.) then again the chances of that happening are infinitismal and i'd be voting "yes" otherwise and "yes" is winning anyway so it's moot. just sayin'.

The grouping does make it easier to skim read definately, but then that creates the problem of well...skim-reading like the comment above said...
I went with yes anyway though.

So if there were 20 Doctor Who secrets, they would be grouped together. If there were 4 Supernatural secrets, they would be kept random.

Ok, that seems weird. If you're gonna group the secrets, you should group them whether there are 2 or 20. Group or don't group (FYI, I voted for "group"), but be consistent.

I voted yes because there *are* certain fandoms I have zero interest.

Also, it does get tiresome to skip around the (say) 15 'fandom x' secrets when the majority are of the "I love this fandom/character/pairing" or the "I hate this fandom/character/pairing" varieties.

I can't really see how grouping things will really improve the presentation that much, but it would mean more work for you. I agree with those who said you should be consistent with grouping ("whether there are 2 or 20")

While I enjoy the randomness, I honestly don't have much preference as to whether things are grouped or not (so I voted "no".) I think you should consider the trade-off of how much better FS would be with sorting vs. how much time you'll have to spend doing it.

I voted no. I found the large groupings to be annoying and pointless. I understand if people don't want to read lots of secrets for a fandom they're not in, but it baffles me why people seem to have such a problem with just scrolling past them like they probably have been for time now. :/ I'm obviously in the minority though.

I love the grouping to death

I couldn't handle all of the SPN (DW, TW, LOST, etc.) wank in the same day. It's best to spread it out.

I voted no on the original poll, but after experiencing the joy of skipping countless Dr. Who secrets I'm all for it.

Not a fan.

I voted no in the original poll, but I like the idea of only grouping when there's a huge explosion of secrets in a fandom (like after a finale or whatever) while keeping it random the rest of the time. ...Just wanted to throw that out there since everyone else commenting seems to be against it, lol.

I said yes, but honestly I say whatever makes posting them the most convenient for you.

[identity profile] poke-fu.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
This is what I assumed you'd meant in the first place. Last time I voted for the AWESOME DANCERS, but this time I said Yes.

[identity profile] tinkertoo.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
i voted no. i think it'd be more work for you to group them together, and i like the randomness. keep it the way it's been, no grouping

[identity profile] dbzmerciter2005.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
At this point I don't care. Grouping them together makes them easier to skip but it's got to be hard enough for you as it is. I don't really care one way or another (I chose "yes" if only because I'm sick of Dr. Who, SPN, and Star Trek stuff), just as long as it doesn't get too difficult. If it does, then pull the plug and make 'em all random again. You may give us a "choice" but ultimately you're the one doing all the work.

In other words: it's up to you, oh 王子様。

[identity profile] cristiline.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
I voted no. Not only is it more work for you, but I like the randomness. Even for fandoms I love, I get bored when I see a bunch of the secrets all together.

(Anonymous) 2010-01-14 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Thirding jadeleopard's comment. Also, I don't know if this can go here or if I should comment in the suggestion post, but I was thinking about "themed" secret days. Like you take all the week's submitted secrets, get all the secrets from huge fandoms, and make a "Who/Supernatural/etc. secret day" one day out of the week for each fandom. And then post the secrets from other fandoms randomly on the other days. But yeah, whatever's most convenient for you.

[identity profile] xenafox.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yes please! There are some bigger fandoms I really try to avoid like the plague, this helps!

[identity profile] duae.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
I voted yes, my internet connection is kind of cranky and it's hard to get all the secrets to load. By grouping I know if there's a fandom I'm not interested in I don't have to go through them individually from the links.

[identity profile] blackmare.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
First time around, I voted "yes, for big fandoms" and then, having read all the comments, went back and changed my vote to no.

Which is where I'm leaving it, because I don't think you should have to do the extra work, really. Even though it's sometimes nice to breeze right past the convoy of SPN secrets or Who secrets or whatever. It's not vital. Keeping the mod from getting burned out -- now that is vital.

[identity profile] manonlechat.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
I don't get why more people aren't voting no. It's a bad enough when you have to wait for four or five Dr. Who secrets to load, but twelve or fifteen or even twenty? You also get screwed if a particular day has a high percentage of fandoms that don't interest you.

[identity profile] zalixethbe.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I also voted no. It doesn't actually save the reader much time, and it's way more work for the mods. I also like the element of randomness. (And I say this as someone who is not a member of the SPN/Who/other big fandoms.)

(Anonymous) 2010-01-14 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
No!! I like to submit lots of secrets some weeks (I made, like... half a dozen this week, I think), and sometimes they tend to have to deal with the same person/fandom... I would HATE for my fandom to be discriminated against just cuz I submitted a lot of secrets :( I'm sorry... this is totally my fault.... I feel so guilty being a part of a larger fandom, now. Like, I *shouldn't* submit my thoughts on things to do with pretty much the only show I fandom, just cuz there's a lot of us with thoughts on it :(

[identity profile] lockhart.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
If they were grouped at the end of the post and had notes at the top saying which ones they were, it would be A++
