Yes exactly. I don't ship Leonard/Penny either (and used to dislike them but they're okay now) and I love their chemistry. Maybe some people would think that makes me a Sheldon/Penny shipper but I don't get the paring at all. Great chemistry but obviously purely friendly to me.

I just wish they would stop it with Leonard/Penny *PUKE**BLEURGH* so I could watch again, why did they have to choose the most nauseating pairing with the actors who have the less chemistry of all?

If they're going to make something canon then try Raj/Howard, at least they don't lack in the chemistry department and are not passive aggressive assholes unlike Leonard.

As someone who just started watching TBBT and ships Leonard/Penny, I really don't see this supposed Sheldon/Penny thing their fans insist is there.

I see a good friendship but nothing that even remotely hints that Sheldon or Penny have any repressed sexual feelings for one another.

I understanding shipping them as fanon but canon just ain't going to happen to them.

They guy is asexual. I can't really picture him with other human being in a relationship, and as others have said, that's part of what makes him so interesting. For once I'm happy to see one character who's not driven by his sexuality an has other fields of interest.

Sure, I enjoy his friendship with Penny, but I don't think that's gonna evolve into something else, ever. Hearing about such militant fans of the pairing makes me glad I'm not in the fandom, though.

I never "saw" Harry/Hermione and it aggravated me to no end. I was a hardcore Ron/Hermione shipper, and while I have absolutely no problem with other ships (I liked Ron/Luna and Ron/Draco at some point, too), when HHr fans threw fuss over how utterly canon their pairing is I was baffled. Once I went to a Ron/Luna&Harry/Hermione-centric HP forum, before the 7th book, and there was a voting about who Ron might end with, and half of the commenters were like "were, there is a slight chance it might be Hermione" and I was like ARE WE READING THE SAME BOOK?

Ugh anyway. I'm quite new to TBBT, though up-to-date. This secret helped me to decide not to dive too deep into the fandom. I adore Sheldon+Penny, they have amazing scenes and really great chemistry, and while it'd be kind of fun to see something with them, I honestly can't imagine it, and I'd rather everything staying the same way then for the show to turn into a soap opera triangle madness.
On the other hand, I'm really interested in seeing Sheldon interested in women! Not the Leonard/Howard/Raj kind of iwantsex thing, but him actually being attracted to someone on a personal level!
As for Penny, I mostly see her as a great friend for everyone, and while I have nothing against Leonard/Penny, I don't really like it that much either.
I don't know, I think Penny is able to help them all grow up/mature socially and then they will be able to find their other half or something. :D

I love the pairing to death; MUCH more than Leonard/Penny, but I don't think it will ever be canon, nor am I dying for it to be canon.
They have wonderful chemistry and an equally as wonderful platonic dynamic, why does that have to be ruined for the sake of a romance when there is no sexual tension between them it?

I would love to see the writers try a Sheldon/Penny romance in some form, but I would be just as happy, if not happier, if they don't.
