Well, y'know... you and (me and) the creator of the movie. I know it doesn't always count for much in fandom, but hey, at least you know you're right.

I mean, this might be one of those 'your corner of fandom is Opposite Land' things, but seriously? More people ship Shosanna/Zoller than Shosanna/Marcel? She shot Zoller! To stop him coming on to her! I think that's a fairly definitive 'no'.

Oh, I agree with you OP, I agree with you so hard.

But in fangirl-land, I can see it going the other way. Why?

1. Zoller is cute, a war hero, he really likes her and was just misunderstood, let's woobie him. I mean, remember all those secrets about the Joker/Rorschack/whomever? Fangirls love a charismatic asshole who might rape them.

2. Marcel is black. I've seen fandoms go further out of their way to avoid being hot over a black man.

3. We see more of Zoller than Marcel, and fangirls like a main character. I'm sure there are plenty of people who ship her with Landa, too.

Honestly, it just doesn't make sense to ship her with anyone else. Shoshanna? Obviously not into Zoller and obviously the opposite for Marcel. Marcel? I thought Shosanna and Zoller's relationship (I don't think that's the right way to describe it but whatever) was simply more interesting then her relationship with Marcel. We got so little screen time with the two of them. I thought they were sweet, but other than that there wasn't much else to them for me. But different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I also didn't like Zoller that much till I started reading more of what Tarantino thought of him. Then I watched the movie again and sort of got to see Zoller in a new light.
