Oh god yes he is so SO SEXIST AND TERRIBLE AND wait hang on a minute..

Srsly, troll harder.

(Anonymous) 2010-01-16 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
So, post-New Man, post-Lad, where does the male of the species stand now? "Well, the world is vastly counted in favour of men at every level - except if you live in a civilised country and you’re sort of educated and middle-class, because then you’re almost certainly junior in your relationship and in a state of permanent, crippled apology. Your preferences are routinely mocked. There’s a huge, unfortunate lack of respect for anything male."

[identity profile] eternalwings.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh come on if you're the OP anon seriously grow up. That's not sexist, would you say the same if a woman spoke about feminism? It's the same thing only male (Malisim? Seriously how come there is not a word for this.)

(Anonymous) 2010-01-16 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my God.

[identity profile] eternalwings.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my god what? If you're going to comment on my comment, please do elaborate more anon.

(Anonymous) 2010-01-16 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
How about this: I am hoping against hope that you're being deliberately obtuse and aren't actually as ignorant as your comment makes you seem. Is that enough of an elaboration for you?

[identity profile] eternalwings.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Says the person who could only make three word comments instead of articulating why they disagreed with me unless I asked them?

(Anonymous) 2010-01-16 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Next time I'll just drop you an emoticon.

D:

...Wow.

(Anonymous) 2010-01-16 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy shit you're fucking stupid. Look up male privelege and shut the hell up until you have ANY idea what you're talkng about.

[identity profile] eternalwings.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh guess what anon I do know about it but I just don't see how him complaining about things in an interview = sexism and by that connection sexism in DW. If you're not going to like a show because oh my god one of the writers has an opinion you don't like you need to grow up.

(Anonymous) 2010-01-16 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol, don't pretend you understand sexism to any degree because you have proved multiple times in a few comments that you know nothing of value.

I'm not the OP, but I agree with the secret. And personally, I won't be watching the show because I don't want to contribute to the success of a man who is openly such a disgusting piece of shit.

[identity profile] eternalwings.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh boo sucks a few comments on fandomsecrets and I know nothing of value, I shall go and cry my empty head to sleep lmao.

Oh and seriously because you don't want to contribute to the show? I'm sure all the actors who put in their time, the other writers, the producers, the runners are all so thankful you don't want one guy to get sucess so you're not supporting any of them.

Learn something instead of being proud of your ignorance.

[identity profile] eternalwings.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh seriously go away anon, I'm quite happy the way I am. I'm not ignorant, I'm not anti-feminist (I'm actually a woman, pro-equal rights and definitly not someone who follows the stereotypes)

If a random anonymous person on FS thinks I'm ignorant then oh well, I'm not going to start reading things you throw at me to apperantly better myself.

(Anonymous) 2010-01-16 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I knew you wouldn't.

[identity profile] thecolourclear.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Hi. I love you. Be my friend?

(Anonymous) 2010-01-16 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
If you fail to see how that is sexist, you are a complete and utter moron. Try reading comprehension sometime.

[identity profile] goatsfoot.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Wow.... you have so little clue about that I'm just not really going to bother. So what if you're female, women have been helpfully contributing towards their own inferior status throughout history. Congratulations if you think Moffat thinking the most privileged group in the entire fucking world (affluent Western men) is oppressed by women, isn't an extremely problematic sexist statement!

Moffat's sexist, but so is just about every other writer out there. That's a pretty unfortunate slip-up to admit what a lot of 'em think, though, but he's been known for talking before thinking before (and apologised sometimes). I'm still looking forward to S5, albeit with a little trepidation, because I think the guy's a comedic/dramatic genius.

[identity profile] melengro.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Moffat's opinion here is asinine.

He is still less objectionable on sex and gender issues than RTD.

[identity profile] trekkiesara.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
true that, dude. RTD started to drive me crazy with the fact that everyone could easily become gay despite having no previous gay tendencies (Tosh and Ianto) or that everyone else was in inter-racial relationships. I mean, I dont mind Capt. Jack sleeping with dudes, but as he was originally introduced as sleeping with anyone, it would have been nice to see him sleep with a chick once in a while. I dont mind him being in a long term relationship (except that Ianto wasnt gay, which was weird) but even after that it was immediately dudes again. I was super shocked to see Martha and Mickey together in the last episode, since they were both black.

[identity profile] ryntha-doghare.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
This! As much as I love manonman action, RTD ruined jack's character a little there. He wasn't very interesting anymore.

[identity profile] wickedground.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
DW!Captain Jack is so totally different from TW!Jack, I don't know how that happened. I wonder if it's because Jack was a Moffat invention originally (at least it was Moffat's TEC/TDD were he first showed up) and then was taken over by RTD?

[identity profile] azalaea.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That's pretty much where I am with it. Moffat has major, major issues with women, never seems able to give an interview about ANYTHING without complaining of how they're out to smother him with sofa-cushions and drain his vital manly essences. And he has often made me very angry. However, ever since Journey's End and its disgusting celebration of paternalism, I've figured he can't make things any worse. And he's generally a better writer. And may not write the Doctor as Sparkly Tinkerbell Jesus. So I'm tentatively looking forward to him. If I have to grit my teeth through a million "Tee hee women just want to get married!" jokes, well, nothing new there, and at least the stories may make sense.
