But i do hate him for writing 'TEC/The Doctor Dances' which was all about the Doctor having sex. NO MOFFAT NO. DOCTOR + SEX = NO
(unless it's with the Master. or like a Time Lord. *such a hypocrite* cos the doctor having sex with a human is like, having sex with another species, so it's essentially bestiality. kinda. EW.)

Yeah i didn't realise this either till i read some giant article about it in DWM.

I got the metaphor, it was just the tone of the comment made me think there was ACTUAL sex and I was wondering if I'd got the show wrong lol.

I think cos Time Lords are like well, Lords of Time and shit like that that despite choosing to be humanoid (even though they don't have to be as Romana kinda proved) they are more removed from humanity than say, Vulcans (ooh crossover universes lol) because Vulcans don't really have any special seeing through time powers/regenerative, they just have a different culture. TO BE HONEST, the whole interspecies sex thing is a kind of sketchy area in general. Frankly I think if something's able to say 'no', you're probably safe.

I guess once it gets to the future and there are different planets with life and shit like that to deny them from having interspecies relationships would be essentially racist.

The very first companion departure from the TARDIS was on account of a crossspecies lovematch. Also Leela left the TARDIS for a Time Lord (or, if you subscribe to the class stratification theory of Time Lord society, at least a Gallifreyan). It may not be good realworld science but, in the universe where Doctor Who is set, crossspecies pairbonding between sentients is unremarkable (by which I literally mean un-remarked upon). And this is not even bringing into it what the Doctor told Grace.

Thank you for this very reasonable comment which argues the point clearly and uses canon examples. Because every time I see the "Doctor + companion = beastiality" argument I start frothing at the mouth and am not fit to type a proper response.

In short, you rock.

Someone has already pointed this out; I wanted to add that while Susan is half-human, so is Handy. Plus the Doctor married Queen Elizabeth and joked about sexing her up. He told Joan to her face that he was capable of everything John Smith was capable of. I would guess he wasn't talking about sheepfucking. Let's allow this argument against fictional interspecies sex between consenting sentient beings to slip gently into that good night.

It makes me so sad that this comment makes me love you and want to hug you and cry. Because I cannot remember the last time I saw someone so cheerily and rationally accepted and admitted that they were wrong in fandom.
