I don't get it either. If you're writing porn or even just romance about a character of the opposite gender, everybody assumes you want to have sex with this character. I guess it's hard to understand or believe that it's possible to not want to have sex.

But I have to say, I agree with your comment here in its entirety. People tend to take their most commonly encountered motivations and desires for granted and often fail to realize/accept the fact that not everyone follows the norm. And in fandom, one of the norms is, apparently, to be interested in sex. -shrugs-

Ahaha, I'm kind of late to the party, but I saw your comments on asexuality on the rant thread, and I have to say that's one of the better explanations of it and why we still read porn and such I've seen. I hope you don't mind that I'm probably going to use that explanation next time sometimes asks me why, despite occasionally reading porn and enjoying romances between characters, I still have no interest in such things personally.


And yes, porn can be downright hilarious! ... especially when it's over-the-top.
