TODAY'S SECRET POST IS BELOW THIS ONE ↓

You're awesome. Your explanation about why asexuals can like porn was the most sensible comment in the anonmeme, IMO.

Cute dog.

Writing porn is even more fun than reading it!

Actual sex is icky. Imaginary voyeurism is so much better.

I don't get it either. If you're writing porn or even just romance about a character of the opposite gender, everybody assumes you want to have sex with this character. I guess it's hard to understand or believe that it's possible to not want to have sex.

All the time, really? WHERE?

In my fandoms, 90% of the people who write porn are open about wanting one of the characters or both. I don't post any of my porn because I'm silly enough to mind that people might think I'm like that.

Conclusion: my fandom friends are weirder than yours.

I'm totally creeping on people's comments - sorry.

But I have to say, I agree with your comment here in its entirety. People tend to take their most commonly encountered motivations and desires for granted and often fail to realize/accept the fact that not everyone follows the norm. And in fandom, one of the norms is, apparently, to be interested in sex. -shrugs-

Also, your icon is love. ♥

Psychologists call it projection. Apparently it's pervasive in fandom.

Thanks about the icon! :)

I like your fics, btw. The one about the cashier with the spoon is especially funny. How I wished I could afford to "lose it" with some customers when I was a cashier...

[identity profile] sargent-snarky.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Projection, eh? And nah, no one in fandom ever projects their wants and desires on other fans or on characters therein. >__>

^__^ You're welcome!

And thanks a lot! Ooh, I need to finish writing the second half of that. ^^; Anyway... Haha, I think almost everyone who works directly with customers has felt the same. There's actually <a href="http://notalwaysright.com/>a whole blog</a> dedicated to that. =)
