Wanna be friends? We share some fandoms and whatnot in common.

(And hey, I purposefully failed out of your college! How is the ol' dump these days?)

I only go there for class, but those are relatively okay. The undergrads are complete idiots, though, generally of the variety that make me want to kill myself rather than listen to them for another hour.

OH MY GOD YES. D:!!!!
Every class I took there, with like ONE exception, felt like rehashing high school. And I went there into my sophomore year.

And, as I'm sure you know, a bunch of them are allowed to take graduate level courses, so I'm stuck working my ass off and taking all these horrific theory courses, and then when I finally get to enjoyable, interesting courses it's filled with those freaking mouthbreathers. *pulls at hair*

I had like TWO good teachers when I was there in the English department, before I figured out that was not remotely what I wanted to do with my life. One was an older blonde lady who had an adorable daughter and taught Victorian lit. The other was a sort of kooky older guy a bit on the hefty side as I recall who taught Chaucer and Shakespeare. Have you had either of them?

I'm doing IPCR.

You notice I said I stopped doing English as a major?
That'd be one of the reasons. ;D
(Also, I had to google IPCR. >.>)

I'm glad I didn't go to Georgetown, that sounds like it would've been even worse for me *shudder* Guess it's a crapshoot when you want a DC school.

So... no, I never knew much about the school outside my own intended major, and I didn't live on campus and never made friends with anyone in any of my classes so I never really heard anyone talk. The most I did was hang around in the coffee shop in the school if business building (I think that's what it was?) and chat with the baristas and read a lot.
...and I smoked pot with some chicks from one of my classes once or twice. It didn't agree with me, thought they were fun.
I found a much, MUCH better place for myself a couple years after quitting AU, studying in a field I can handle at a school I love.

I have my own relationship with language, and with art, but ultimately studying the Classics as a major just wasn't my path. I prefer a different angle on it all, that's all. :3
By the way, do you live near AU? Because if you do, you probably live within a few blocks of where I live during most of the week. ^^

I live relatively close to AU.

I like the Classics well enough, but I feel I'd be doing their Art a disservice not to take it all the way, which... I just don't want to do.
