I hate secrets like this.

So what, you enjoy a catchy, popular song. Why does that make you, or anyone else, hate yourself? Because music can only be good if it's Shelley-level poetry? Or unless it "means something"?

Or is it just that Ke$ha's popular, thereby denying you the pleasure of gloating about how you don't listen to ~mainstream~ music?

Yeah, just shut up.

I like the tune of the song. It gets stuck in my head all the time.

However, I loathe the lyrics and the way she sings it. It's so trashy that it makes me want to vomit on her and scratch the $ out of her name.

And this is coming from a fan of pop music.

THIS. I will readily admit that I love Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, etc. So it's not a matter of hating catchy pop music. It's that Ke$ha's song is trashy.

Or maybe, perhaps, let me just run this by you--it could be because the song has ridiculous, trashy lyrics, and some of us would prefer not to be singing them.

Dude, really? I'm a huge pop music fan- I listen to Britney, Gaga, Adam Lambert, etc. But Ke$ha is just so damn trashy and intentionally annoying... Just because you like one brand of popular music =/= you must like all popular music ever.

I like tons of music that isn't Shelley-level poetry, and my personal pet peeve is so-called "guilty pleasures" (honestly, when will we as a culture collectively get over ourselves and just admit that pop music is fun and danceable and everyone else can shush). But this song... is barely music. 90% of it is talking to a synth beat. AND YET IT IS CATCHY. Thus self-hatred.

As I said I've never done this before. I hate myself because I hate Ke$ha because I think she is a horrible person who feels the need to steal from the homeless for attention and to be edgy.

I will freely admit that I love popular music. I don't know half of the obscure indie bands people listen to. So no that's not it. It's not because it's popular.

Oh yeah and the lyrics are really not something I want to support. The lyrics to any of her songs pretty much.
