Yeah I happen to be one of the artists whose work is in that picture. I don't see how any of the three relate to pedophilia. I also don't recall ever being a pedophile myself. Would someone care to explain to me when this occurred?

Really, was that secret posted by a self-righteous young teenager? Someone with too much religion for their own good, I'm guessing. The Mother fandom is filled with dark and even sexual undertones, and that's not simply the fans' doing. Art is wonderful because people are able to express themselves however they want. I would personally enjoy this fandom a lot more if some of its members were a bit kinder toward others.

*puts hands up* Look, honestly, I don't see the shota/pedo in the pictures posted. They're pretty innocuous. If you want to know what offended the OP, ask the OP.

I'm just saying, that there IS a lot of shota in the fandom, which can be uncomfortable or off-putting for people who are squicked, or worse, triggered by it. Not that any of the artists are ACTUALLY pedophiles or anything like that.

I wish I knew who the OP was... I'd like to throttle them. Not for saying anything against me. Actually what I'm most upset about is that they used such an awful pic of mine XD It's so old and needs to be redone...

But I'm upset that they made those claims against my friends, who are not like that and have never shown it in their art. They are wonderful people who would never even dream of doing anything related to pedophilia.

The only real disgrace to this and any fandom are the self-righteous, holier-than-thou brats who are too quick to judge and play favorites. All they were born to do was play kiss-ass with the moderators of whatever site/club/forum they're a part of. I'm annoyed, insulted, but can only shake my head at this.

yeah I guess so. It doesn't really bother me a huge amount, I can just understand it being a bit jarring when you leap into the fandom for the first time.

I'll admit that, as a Mother/EB fan, this tendency weirds me out to no end. I've more or less dropped a ship because of it (I like Jeff/Tony, but most of the fanfic is freaky as hell), and all the Lucas/Claus has really put me off of M3 fandom.

(... I wonder if the shota thing is why so much of the fandom is like "EWWWW DUSTER IS A CREEPY OLD MAN?" It would explain a lot.)

I know that there's a distinction between enjoying shota and enjoying real human children, but I'm still pretty glad that the main sites for this fandom are so rated-G, or else god knows what would show up!

I can handle one weird kink at a time. If it's just one, it doesn't bother me too much, but Claus/Lucas freaks me the fuck out because it's shota twincest.

mother/earthbound has just as much porn as other fandoms (probably less), but because the characters are so young it makes the fans seem like dirtier perverts than, say, final fantasy fans.
