Most slashfic is a total turn-off for me, because about 95% of it totally ignores the...cleaning aspect of anal sex.
Let me amend that. The slashfic with anal sex, no cleaning and no condom. Just...no. I can't do it.

As someone not squicked by not cleaning up for anal sex, but who does like to try to keep aware of squicking out potential readers, I'm curious as to how much cleaning you require/prefer. Would the one recieving be required to actually state they're going off to have an enema or show the two doing it (which could be hot), or would the reciever saying something like "Let me go freshen up real quick" and disappearing into the bathroom for a few minutes be suffice? Would having a shower before hand be enough?

In fics, while enemas can be hot, just the mention of it is pretty much enough for me.
Bordering on TMI (I'm sorry if I offend!), but I have problems with chronic UTI's, so I am soooo careful to be clean and hygienic in the bathroom, that the thought of unprotected, unclean anal sex is just so squicky to me.
OT, but there is something seriously wrong with LJ's notification system, as I keep getting responses 11 times. It's ridiculous, it isn't even funny.

I get the UTI issue, definitely, and that'd annoy me too and make it difficult for me to get into a fic like that. I know I completely don't "get" nipple play, and while it's not a squick, I usually skim or roll my eyes past excessive nipple play in fic, even I know lots of people do enjoy it. It's not like saying "Well, not everyone gets a UTI from unprotected anal sex!" makes it less squicky for you.
I do sometimes have my characters use condoms in the bedroom, but often, especially if it's a long-term monogamous sort of thing, I skip it. And, of course, for a lot of people condomless is hotter/more intimate.

Yeah, I mean I know that the chance of getting a UTI from unprotected sex is slim, but I'm still squicked. I'm not really into nipple play, either. I know the mechanics behind it, and how most people get a rush from it, but...I don't get it.
