I started getting into fandom when I was about 12/13, this was before LJ was what it is today and it was part of the SJer (Sam/Jack) section of SG-1 on eGroups (now Yahoo! Groups). Made a few childish mistakes and I don't ever remember hiding my age. Generally respected the limits of my age and age ratings.

But then I've never been that interested in porn so that may help.

Point is, after I got going people around me respected me for who I was, how I behaved and acted regardless of age. You can obviously pass for an adult so that means you're mature.

I can see why you're hiding it, especially because of the porn thing and the sticky situation that might put your friends in as you're a minor even if you are age of consent. And I can't say you should act like this or that because you know your friends and I don't. But I hope it works out in the end. And hey, you don't have to lie forever - you can tell them in a few years. I know I would understand if I were in their boots.

Plus, the whole porn thing started before I was the age of consent. Realistically, I'll probably wait until I'm older, and spill the beans then, but still, I feel like a douche for not saying anything and lying so much.
