Yeesh I hear ya. So much bitterness and debate about the Hermione hair. I get the bitchery about the movie adaptations, but since when is that a surprise? Movies bastardize books all the time. How a person's hair changes from puberty varies from individual to individual. I had/have Hermione-hair. It SUCKED. It was bushy/wavy/frizzy and wouldn't do anything decent without way too much effort. By the time I was 16 I figured it out or it got better or something, and I found a way to get it to curl more than wave/frizz. Now as an adult it's wild, bushy, curly, mad hair that I love. But I can tame it when I want, fairly easily. At the same time I know people who had Hermione-hair, and it relaxed into lovely glossy waves/curls as they matured. Other people still have an unmanageable nest. It's just a book/movie/character, people. Deal.

Just because bad adaptations happen all the time doesn't make it okay. And when people talk about the hair, it's usually more of an extension on how her character warped from plain, somewhat blossoming girl who doesn't take guff, to genius hottie that shows how dumb Ron is for not noticing anything. The bushy hair is canon, all the way through book seven, so, yeah, doesn't matter how other Herminone-hair owner's hair grew out.

Uhm, okay? Sorry, I guess I just don't really understand why the hair type of a fictional character in a series of children's books vs. their movie adaptations is worth any amount of stress, much less the heated debates and canon-preaching I've witnessed. And please, I do understand what you're trying to say about non-bushy always leading to m-sue hottie. But really? No one is going to die from this.

Oh well. I suppose I just had a moment of stupid and completely forgot that this was HP fandom we're talking about.
