This reminds me a lot of my best friend. She takes Klonopin for panic attacks, too, but they level her out to the point of numbness, and she kind of hates it, too.

Though I can't speak from personal experience, I do know you're the only one who reacts this way to the meds.

Maybe you can check into a different kind of medication? I don't know if there's any other drug out there specifically for stopping panic attacks, but you still might talk to your doctor and see if they can recommend anything else, or even any methods of dealing with attacks that will help you cope without taking the meds (especially since it sounds like you're willing to try riding it out, anyway).
