Do you have some recs? I bet you do. C'mon... five favorite fics? I'm in a reading mood. (Another fan and I are thinking about having a rec-a-thon soon for classics and older stories. Join in!) :)

Not the OP, but I'd be interested in that "classic fics" catch up. I think 1997-98 was when I got into XF fandom too. There are a couple of fics I remember well still: the Iolokus series, which I reread many many times, since I actually printed the whole thing out. And another massive post-colonization fic where M&S flee to Europe with some underground group, temporarily hide out in a windmill (!), then end up living in massive caves.

I have very fond memories of my intro to fanfic through XF! OP has nothing to be ashamed of.

I didn't have a computer let alone internet when X-files was popular so I wouldn't know any great stories. I did read every piece of memorabilia issued tho'.
