As for all the 'OH MY GOD! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!' hand-wringing about her being an unhealthy role model, I wonder if the same people stress about the example set by actors who are underweight, heavy smokers, drinkers, drug-abusers or sexually promiscuous? They're all health risks too. Or is it just the FAT thing?

I always get puzzled by the people whp always pop out of the woodwork whenever a larger girl dares be attractive, with their bleats of "BBBUT IT'S INSPIRING GIRLS TO BE UNHEALTHY", as if it isn't normal for girls all across western countries to kill themselves or go mad trying to be as unhealthy as covergirls.

Totally! I love me some Beth Ditto, and the number of opinion pieces about "omg, now girls are gonna start eating a shit ton of food and get fat because she set an example" just pisses me off. It's an opinion that is fat-phobic dressed up as being health conscious, and it's completely out of touch with reality.

When the vast majority of societal pressure is to be unrealistically thin, do you really think ONE person is going to make people say "fuck it, I'm getting a baconator." ? We're judging these people based upon their performance ability, which has nothing whatsoever to do with their weight, and their personal health is their choice.
