All I can think, reading this secret, is "if you're able to be use a computer and read a kink meme, your migraine must be pretty light. You're kind of lucky, really."

I hate it when someone who has a bad headache is like "MIGRAINE LOL"

That was my exact thought anon. If I have a migraine I want to be in a cold dark quiet room. The last place I want to be is at the computer begging for porn on a kink meme, assuming I'm still able to string coherent phrases together without puking.

Really bad headache =/= migraine!

Er, hi. I get migraines. Have gotten them since I was in kindergarten. Have an official diagnosis and everything. There is literally nothing to be done for them except take some medicine and wait the agony out. I might as well do something with my time other than lie there in agony and boredom. Of course, I fully admit that there have been many times where I have had to function during a migraine for important things (strangely, they just don't let you sleep them off in a dark room on Parris Island...), and oftentimes without the benefit of medicine, so honestly, sitting and looking at a computer screen after taking some painkillers? Not that difficult.

Yeah, but let's also keep in mind that not everyone takes painkillers when they get migraines.

Not all migraines are created equal. Just because you can function through them doesn't mean that everyone else can. But for the most part, anyone functioning through a migraine probably doesn't actually have a migraine. Unfortunately, it's become less of it's own illness and more like a blanket statement at any sort of head pain.

This. If you can work through them, more power to you. Those of us who puke a lot, get aphasia and visual disturbances that prevent us from reading or recognising faces, and who can't find meds that will touch them will have to continue languishing in the dark like wusses, I'm afraid.

When I get a migraine, I throw up repeatedly and can't see properly. Then I take painkillers and pass out. If it's a good day, I can see when I wake up.

Your migraines sound pretty light.

No offence, but if you can at all function through it, much less look at a computer screen, it's not a migraine.
