What sort of yuri are you looking for? Fanfic? Anime? Manga? Explicit or not?

Anime and manga, (preferably not explicit), but fic is good too. (I actually prefer shoujo ai to yuri; I'm mostly in it for the fluff.) I'm fine with smut in fic, though, but I can never seem to find any that's well written except in kink memes. And most of the kink memes I've been to are either dead or full of requests with no fills. >.>;

The most popular yuri manga right now are Girl Friends, Sasameki Koto, Sweet Blue Flowers, and Octave. They're somewhat more angsty than fluffy, though.
I have a whole "yuri manga for beginners" list at http://mizuno-youko.livejournal.com/68245.html if you're interested. If you're going for fluff, Kisses, Sighs, and Cherry-Blossom Pink, The Conditions For Paradise, and Chatting at the Amber Teahouse might be a good place to start.
For anime, Strawberry Panic and Sasameki Koto are popular and not too dark. Maria-sama ga Miteru is a classic but isn't as overtly yuri. Wikipedia has a big list of yuri anime if you want to poke around there and see if something strikes your fancy.
I don't read a whole lot of femmeslash fics, so I will leave those recs to someone else.

K-ON (I've read EVERY SINGLE fic for it that exists on FF.N), Vocaloid, anything Final Fantasy, Azumanga Daioh, Tokyo Mew Mew, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. No pairings in particular, though I'm not a big fan of MioxYui from K-ON.

Having read EVERYTHING on FF.net for K-ON! certainly makes it hard to rec stuff. :P

And man... only other fandom that overlaps I can see is Final Fantasy, and I'm afraid I don't generally bookmark those. Well, there is Spirit (http://community.livejournal.com/yuri_challenge/32673.html) by mad_rex though, for a little Penelo/Fran romp.

You should totally friend me though. Your post reminds me entirely of myself and trying to figure out my g/f of 8 years...
