It always kind of surprises me. I come from a family that drinks pretty heavily and about half of them smoke. My godmother died of lung cancer, and my godfather of liver related issues from his drinking heavily and my uncle is going to (one could argue that my grandmother died because of alcohol, because she was drunk and was dancing and fell down, but she was also 89, and if I'm 89 and that's how I die, I'll be happy), but no one I know has ever said OH MY GOD YOU'RE DISGUSTING! And pot, I just, I smoke with my mom and my friends, and at people's parties, and I've never known anyone to die from it, which is actually more than I can say for the legal stuff. Cigarettes are usually the things I get condemned for (and usually it is just a sniff of disdain, and a thing of, well I hope you know you're going to die horribly) and I actually get that, but at the same time I KNOW! Okay stop fucking telling me what I know!
And really people just have different lives. I don't particularly get people who are straight edge, but you know, whatever. If that is what makes them happy, as long you don't do it for the purpose of taking the moral high ground: good for you.
