Like, a white person being mocked growing up in an all-black neighbourhood is an example of prejudice and bigotry, but that white person will still reap the benefits of their white privilege later on and will not, for their race, be denied jobs or face the myriad of other discriminations in the larger scheme based on their race.
In order to be racist, one must possess both privilege (being white) and power (which in the West, is associated with being white). And power is a societal/institutional concept, not an individual one.
Race theory can seem complex, but some excellent comms here on LJ for figuring out terminology and what is and is not use/abuse of privilege are
