I love Tony/Steve slash, and I don't read Marvel comics. Just in it for the porn!

Haven't been in fandom for a while, but I remember their being slash. Especially since that last pairing is canon.

What's up with the Young Avengers lately anyway? People that still read comics? Let me know.

They've been showing up off and on in assorted titles, and now they're in Asgard to help kick Osborn's ass.

I didn't get into Marvel for the slash, but the first Marvel comic I read happened to be Cable & Deadpool, and, uhh, yeah. ;) I fell hard for the pairing. So slash is what kept me reading Marvel!

Me too, and sometimes I feel like a fake. But I'm also getting in to non-slashy stuff, and I'm realizing that I do like other parts of the comics besides the slashy stuff, so... *shrug*

And replace Steve/Tony with Rictor/Shatterstar. Canon FTW!

Well, I got back into Marvel for the slash, if that's any "better."

I'm really not sure what this secret is trying to say. Are you, as a slash fan, in the minority? Because I remember bucket loads of slash, especially Cap/Tony. Are you saying that you're surprised other people got into books for the stories, plots, characters, or extended universe instead of just for the fan written porn?

I was wondering the same thing... I really don't think being a slash fan in the Marvel fandom puts you in the minority. Not by a long shot! But maybe I'm misreading this as well.

I think they mean that most slash fans got into the comics first and saw the slash second. Or maybe that, when you take into account all of comics fandom, slashers make up a very small minority.

Yeah, I...got into Marvel from the fandom side of things. Started reading Steve/Tony and looking at the fanart, THEN started reading the comics. I swear, it was something I meant to pick up! I just...did it backwards. ^^;

Point is, you're not alone. XD

I did it for Deadpool, then realized that I could slash him and Marvel became exponentially more interesting.

...if it makes you feel better, I'm a DC fan. The only Marvel I've read was Young Avengers, and even then only for Wiccan and Hulkling. XD

OT: LOL at the way Cap is standing. Tony's stance is fairly mincing and dainty as well.

The hug-and-fly tends to do that, no matter who's involved, though the artist on this book had an especially grand old time with it. It's hilarious every time.

Man, Cable/Deadpool slash is the only reason to tolerate Cable.

That being said, I only read Marvel when I need to research for my RPG so I don't think I'm that great of a fan anyway.

Y'see, for me it was the other way around, I got into slashing just because of Marvel. : D (10 year old me thought Magneto and Professor X were so married)

That's the sole reason why I started reading Young Avengers. Luckily there was more to it to keep me interested, but...yeah...

yeah, sadly enough that's the exact same reason I got into the DC/Marvel fandom.
Cap and Tony shipping sort of got me into it, and I've only read about a handful of the comics so far. Though I must say, the books I've picked up, they have lots of canon scenes (through the perspective of a fangirl anyway, lol)

I was always big in to DC (and it still has my heart), but Tony/Steve were my gateway drug. And now I totally ship all three of these pairings "like, whoa!"
