I'm really not sure what this secret is trying to say. Are you, as a slash fan, in the minority? Because I remember bucket loads of slash, especially Cap/Tony. Are you saying that you're surprised other people got into books for the stories, plots, characters, or extended universe instead of just for the fan written porn?

I was wondering the same thing... I really don't think being a slash fan in the Marvel fandom puts you in the minority. Not by a long shot! But maybe I'm misreading this as well.

I know, it's so unclear. Knowing what I know about the fandom I have to assume that the OP is in the minority by being there only for the slash. Which is ... dumb.

The minority part was supposed to be about my feelings on Steve and Tony. I had assumed that everyone thought that "their love is so canon," but I realized a great majority, especially people not in fandom, don't. In retrospect, I should have realized that since Marvel is really targeted towards males, many guys won't see the main characters that way, kinda like I don't often see best girl friends that way. Nevertheless, though it was rediculously stupid, it made me depressed that Steve and Tony weren't as "twu and canon" as I had thought.

I think they mean that most slash fans got into the comics first and saw the slash second. Or maybe that, when you take into account all of comics fandom, slashers make up a very small minority.
