I like SVU because it does that.

Just because it has violence/rape/murder in it doesn't mean I automatically dislike it. (I probably should have stated that before>) A lot depend on how the material deals with it. I dislike it when it's glorified, like this secret mentioned, or trivialized.

One of the reasons it's not something I speak out against is because it's so subjective. But yeah, things like GTA leave me feeling a little ill.

I do know people who dislike SVU for the same reason (that it's too close to home, and uses something awful that happens to real people as a source of lurid prime time entertainment). So even whether it's glorifying or trivializing violence is subjective. Sort of like the incessant troll threads we get here about people saying rape fic is awful and others saying they use it to deal with their trauma and others saying they just think it's hot and it shouldn't matter because it's fiction. I don't like being in a room with someone playing GTA and I think it's negative reinforcement for people who already have misogynist or racist ideas, but as long as the individual I'm dealing with can separate fiction from reality it's not a deal breaker for me.

Those women shouldn't be appropriating real rape victims' experiences for kicks or fap material. Just because women do it doesn't mean it isn't completely wrong. You, and people like you, make me feel sick. Fiction by definition is an exploitation and glorification of life experiences. There's no such thing as a piece of fiction that doesn't glorify or trivialize any issue it deals with for the benefit of its audience.

You know, this is the sort of thing I would think back in middle and high school when I was in a really shitty mood. I would take a reasonable position that I had over certain issues, and exaggerate the fuck out of it, with exactly this sort of petty wordiness and bile.

Only I kept it to myself, and even then, it was pretty damn pathetic.

So nice one, troll, making yourself look more pathetic than me at 15. Trust me, that's pretty hard to do.
