I like the pairing because it is a point mentioned in the film but never expanded upon. It is practically canon but not quite canon. It is like filling in the blanks.
They clearly have a lot of history together. There is lots to work with there.

I like the film. Good music. Interesting format.

I think also some of it has to do with the fact that she won an Oscar for a movie a lot of people dislike, then proceeded to make a lot of bad movies for quite some time. She's also rather hit-and-miss with her performances, IMO. So I don't think it's JUST her persona that bothers people.

Same here. I think she's an OK actress, pretty much average these days. Better than the Jessica Alba types but not as good as Rachel McAdam and Keira Knightley.

But yes, her interviews are incredibly annoying and are completely lacking in modesty or humility.

Haha, I never watched too much of Lost (I think I saw the first two seasons), but I would tell my best friend fake spoilers all the time (she was really into it, but had a hard time keeping up), and she would get so pissed. I think one time I told her that Jack was turned into an elephant by some weird, mysterious force on the island, but since he was an elephant he could leave, so Kate and Sawyer built a boat to send Jack to the mainland so that he could get help (both in turning back into a human and getting the rest of them off the island). Except, well, neither of them wanted Jack to go alone, so they hopped on the boat with him and sailed off. Unfortunately, since they did that, the boat ended up getting tracked down by the Legendary Smoke Monster and attacked. The episode ended with elephant!Jack, Sawyer, and Kate falling into the ocean.

When she got pissed at me for "revealing those spoilers," I said, "What? Dude, seriously? Did you seriously believe that? An elephant?"

Her response? "It's Lost. You never know what kinds of things could happen!!"

So, I kind of know what you mean, OP. Part of what makes Lost so great is making up ridiculous spoilers and having them actually sound plausible because of how crazy the show is.
