I'm old, and my hands hurt, so I won't clap, but I will say I've known straight women who have dumped hetrosexuality for politics/convenience/social support reasons, gay men who were multiply married to women and had a committed long-term gay relationship on the side, gay men who fell in love with one and only woman and stayed married for decades, bisexual men and women who have been in long term het relationships and then came out when their spouse died, and straight men in long-term asexual relationships with other straight men. I've known straight macho guys who were suspiciously into Boy-Girl-Boy threeways, and nice elderly ladies who stayed married all their lives but always went on vacation with their one special female friends. And staight-identified men and women who have messed around with members of their own sex for the fun of it.

I've been married for thirty-odd years to a bisexual man. I probably most accurately identify as asexual. He and I are monogamous, committed, and not interested in sex on the side.

Sex and love are much more complicated than you children think.

Come on, is that sort of condescension really necessary? I'm 40 and have seen a whole variety of permutations on the sexuality question in real life, but we don't need name calling.

You need to let go of your need for perfection in things you have no control over, or you'll just be miserable and keep making everyone around you miserable.

And 40? Is a child to me. At least 40 and as picky as you are.
