(Anonymous) 2010-05-03 12:16 am (UTC)(link)I know personally, if I'm going to watch a war movie, it better be mostly "just set during a time of war" and be mostly about characters and not the fighting, because the fighting tends to bore me. It's why I kind of avoid most WWII movies unless I'm guaranteed to get some dialogue or character development; most of what you get is 'let's go out and kill some Nazis and portray it using interesting camera angles.'
You sound like a giant douche for saying it makes you respect people less, though. If anything, I disrespect people because they tend to love all the inoffensive shit and shit all over the movies that dare to have an opinion. Which makes me a hypocrite. Cheers.
