My work here is done.

Until my next secret.

If you're the sort of person who doesn't want to be spoiled for anything you might potentially ever want to finish then yes, you shouldn't be reading F!S, and you'll have to be careful on the internet generally because people are casually spoilery about anything older than, say, a year or maybe even a month.

If there's a fairly recent thing that you just haven't gotten around to yet—like Toy Story 3—then you might want to avert your eyes from secrets about those things. And for me, if there's a series/season finale I haven't seen yet but mean to, I may well avoid F!S for a week or so until I've seen it. Or, if something has leaked and spoilers are all over the place, F!S is absolutely the kind of place I'll avoid because even if the secrets aren't spoilery the comments will be. I mean, let's face it, this is a really troll-friendly comm.

I mean, seriously: if you're a spoilerphobic person, you have to create your own safe spaces, and F!S not only isn't one of them, it warns you for that openly at the top of the post. I've been spoiled by F!S but I figure that's my own damn fault.

Totally unrelated but-

is that a dead little Sanji icon? D=

If you scroll down here (http://tomandlorenzo2.blogspot.com/2010/06/2010-mtv-movie-awards.html) you can see the typical stuff. Mostly, they hate it that she's a starlet but refuses to smile for the paps on the red carpet or act like she's so fucking happy to be there or whatever bullshit, and say that she's ungrateful or whatever. And then on top of that they hate her tendency to not glam up when she doesn't absolutely have to (award shows, her own premieres). They don't like that she wears sneakers. Basically they want her to enjoy being a fashion plate a la Chloe Sevingy or Scarlett Johannsen so they can go on to make fun of her dresses and blame her "gays." (Because all stylists in H'wood are gay, right Rachel Zoe?)

But honestly, in all of the interviews I've seen she's seemed overwhelmed but thankful and also quite willing to defend Bella as a character and Twilight as a franchise. She doesn't seem snooty, just kinda chill. She just refuses to be your cover-of-In Style-fashion-plate.

(Not that there's anything wrong with that; Zoe Saldana represent! But she genuinely enjoys clothes, while I don't think KStew does.)

(Twas sarcasm, yes XD)

I like to think that Mohinder's power is being too pretty to kill :D

If you also cropped the screenshot, sure you can. Also if you did a lot of screenshots you can too. ^_^

ah, screw the anon-ness. XD
*fails at doing F!S right*

Here; it's not purely Sasan/Smudge and you've probably seen this fic spammed around the various communities, but their relationship got to be a pretty big part of it. PG, though.

Kammy = light purple.

Kamek = darker purple.

:D (Never thought about my Mario fandom ships, guess I better start...)

[identity profile] sky-queen3.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Erm, I know it's offtopic and all but how'd you do that scrolling effect?

[identity profile] sky-queen3.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Mario needs more love/respect. :3

[identity profile] sky-queen3.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm laughing quietly, can't wake everyone up.

[identity profile] sky-queen3.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
A male Steelix most likely would. ^_^

[identity profile] redteekal.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
You know I was only just saying to my S.O the other day after watching one of the episodes - holy crap I am cheering for the violent retaliation!! WTF? I have never condoned violence of any kind unless in self defence. This show is removing my morals as I know it!

[identity profile] angary.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
(LOL, I kinda figured it was, but wanted to make sure.)

OMG, me too! HRG couldn't kill him, Peter never would, Sylar couldn't kill him, Elle wouldn't kill him because she crushed on him hard (and I think Bob did, too XD), Maya couldn't, and Hiro went back and prevented Samuel from killing Mo. It's supported by canonical evidence!

[identity profile] sky-queen3.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
It's possible they're only young and don't know how to work it quite right yet. It'll come in time.

I can't wait to see it myself. :3

Oh yeaaah, I've seen that cross-posted on my flist before, and at one point I opened up the first chapter to read it later, then lost all my tabs :P I was wondering if that was the fic in question, but didn't want to outright say it here.

Thanks for the link :)

When I first started writing, my favorite characters were from books like Narnia and LotR. English authors. I started writing about people in England, never mind that I grew up in California. This is just what you wrote about, it felt like. I wanted to write well, I wanted to write the stuff I liked, and what I had liked so far took place in England.

We are trained from a very young age to empathize/like White Male Lead Characters. Look at the cartoons you watched as a child, look at the books you read, think about your past favorite characters, I bet your going to find them overwhelmingly dominated by white males. This isn't your fault, it's an institution that's been in place since white dominated societies began.

When you are a child and you're looking at these choices, just as an example:

Male Lead, Characteristics: Brave, outgoing, bossy
Male Friend: Funny, helpful
Male Friend: Bookish, shy
Female Lead: FEMALE, SHE IS FEMALE, SHE IS FEMALE.

Odds are that you're going to start drifting toward one of the characters that actually has a personality, one like yours, maybe, rather than the female character that is very flat and a stereotype. After a while it becomes a habit, and this is why we reject awesome female leads when they are finally given to us. We've spent so long being given sour apples, we've been made biased against them, and when we think about characters we like, a female one doesn't come to mind.

This is my theory on it, anyway.

[identity profile] sara-rojo.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
If they only want to hear good things form their friends, that's not a very healthy friendship. Friends tease each other, criticise each other. It's common to tease someone for having bad taste, and there's surely something the person teasing likes that can be used to tease him/her back in return. If people who like Twilight only want to hear good things about it from their friends, they should probably hold a casting to make them, or just make Twilight friends, even though that sounds sad.

Also, if someone spots the anti-feminism in Twilight and still likes it, they are clearly NOT anti-feminist, since they acknowledge it; they probably like it for others reasons which escape me at the momentXD.

[identity profile] compressed-cake.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Not a Star Wars fan, but I'll confess I had to stop and stare for a second. Om nom.

[identity profile] compressed-cake.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm a huge Thief fan, but I've always been a bit wary of entering the fandom. It just sounds like a scary place to be. :|

[identity profile] eastcoastfilly.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Or Janie.

[identity profile] eastcoastfilly.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
And this is why I like horse racing. I'm not saying it's perfect, it's still a pretty old fashioned sport. There aren't as many women trainers and jockeys as they're oughta be. Some of the arguments against running fillies and mares with the boys get a little silly. Most of the Kentucky Oaks coverage is spent looking at hats and passing out food and drink recipies...Actually, even on Derby Day, most mentions of women at the track are "ooooo, look at the pretty hats they're wearing!"

But, when women are there, it's not made as such a big deal anymore unless they're looking for statistics and a good story. They're all dealing with the same animal anyway, it's just a matter of getting your hands on the good ones.

[identity profile] eastcoastfilly.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
At least some of the fandom probably agrees with you. I've seen at least one fic that mentioned him having a wife and kids at home and I've heard mention of a few more. He's the nicest guy of the bunch, I don't see why not.

[identity profile] ashen-red.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Same character, same series of games (Super Solvers).

(Anonymous) 2010-06-27 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
All this _skating love/hate lately is making me want to vomit.
