Better than the movies, not better than the original run, which is fine by me. In fact, I really enjoyed the episode pictured in your secret which, upon reading the other comments, everyone hated, boo! :P

That's my thought in general (though the movies, especially the fourth one, are growing on me). I think I might enjoy the new run more after a year or so when it's not "OMG! Different material than the originals!" (I mean it's new material, not the same material as was in the original Futurama so it takes some adaptation.)

Also, I have a feeling that we're all subconsciously comparing new Futuramas to our favorites in the old series. For example, the Leela of her Own wasn't so great and The Deep South was so-so, about on par with some of the more recent episodes. I also think that they're kind of exploring how far they can go on a cable channel (as opposed to Fox), so they're finding the right balance again instead of having it laid out clearly.

I do agree that the change of channel may mean that it'll take them even longer to get their groove back, but I think they are doing quite admirably all things considered. :)

Yup, that's generally my opinion too. They're getting the plots pretty well in general, but they have to figure out where the line is again. Before the new network, they probably had more gross/sexual that got cut to make it network appropriate. Now they have to figure out whether they should self-censor, or if the humor is worth it (so far I'd say it's not in general, but it might be great once they get the right level).

I hated that one because I felt it relied WAY to heavily on pop culture references, some of which were already outdated. (A Susan Boyle joke? Really? That featured heavily into the plot?)

And I thought the goat thing was just...no. I know Futurama is better than that.

It's just one bad episode to me, though. Like A Leela of her Own or That's Lobstertainment. Maybe even a little worse, but as long as the other episodes pick up, I'm fine.

I wasn't big on the goat itself, but the pit worked well into the plot. As for Susan Boyle, yeah, her reference was old, but it was just done really well so I kind of forgive them for that dated reference when the iphone-twitter-youtube sensationalism was so well done.

If you still enjoy the episodes with pop culture references from 2002, I don't see why a Susan boyle joke is much of a difference.... js. There's other stuff about that episode I wasn't too fond of though.

Me too! I really liked the App ep! Especially Mom & the boys, their dynamic is as sharp as ever.

I was all ready to pounce on OP for being a hater, but whatevs, to each his own. Sorry you don't like 'em, but still glad that I do.
