I'm not ashamed of my kinks, I own up to them. I realize it's supposed to be anon, but getting the reply in my e-mail is easier than adding a bookmark.

Just because you feel the need to go anon in a kink meme doesn't mean you're being more polite. Try harder next time. Get a better comparison, too.

If you're on an ANONYMOUS kink meme it IS more polite to stay anon. Perhaps pissing in a shared, not very large swimming pool would be a better comparison. Except that the piss is bright red against the blue tiles of the pool. It may become so diluted in the water as to not be unhygienic, but it's still a gross thing to be reminded of every time you look at that different color.

It seems to me that a lot of kink meme anonymity wank (pun inescapable) is caused by people from non-anonymous memes and people from anonymous memes clashing. When the rules state you should be anon, and you refuse to be anon? You're being a rude, entitled ass. When the rules say no such thing? Go ahead and be lazy as much as you want.

This is the exact reason I go un-anon. E-mail notification is a ton faster than going through all the bookmarks I have.

go back to the page and look? That's what I do? It's not THAT hard, really.

It's just one of the those unwritten rules. You're not obligated to follow, but other people will get annoyed. (And I guess you don't care, so oh well.)

It's not that I don't care, I've only been involved in one anon kink meme, and I kept bookmarking my requests when I went anon, but it was seriously a lot of prompts. Once I accidentally went un-anon, and getting the reply to my e-mail was a whole lot easier than the bookmark system. And then I didn't have a ton of bookmarks that may or may not have been updated.

Depending on the speed of your fandom's meme, there's also the option of just tracking comments to the entire post. It's not always a viable option, but it's worked for me in the past.
