Lots and lots of it. The sad thing is that I'd kill for thoughtful plotty gen, but I saw that line and I was like, "Yep, everyone's going to ship it."

inception could produce such amazing gen fic, seriously. i'm kind of hoping that once people get the inevitable porn gear out of their systems, more thoughtful stuff will come along. not to mention a fic making full use of the film's premise and concept will take some time to plan out and write, so maybe it'll just take time. i don't mind the shippers running rampant in the afterglow of the film, but it would be a shame to leave all the other opportunities for fic unexplored.

Don't be an idiot. It's pretty much impossible for anyone to enjoy a fandom anymore without turning it into gay porn first.

Seriously, is there a single soul who didn't think that a bazillion arthur/eames fics had been born the very second that line was uttered?

I personally would have been devastated if the only kind of fic to come out of the film had been slash, for the aforementioned scene. Luckily the fandom has also picked up on the fact that everyone can and should be shipped with everyone and that there's enough to love to go around for everybody!
