Sorry, I still think you're misunderstanding or overinterpreting reader comments (which drip of hyperbole by their very nature). Once again, people can genuinely like your work, recommend you or whatever, and they're still not obligated to care about everything you do. If this was a friend who was specifically a fandom friend, which it seems like it was, then it's no wonder that "I want to talk to you more" simply meant "I want to talk to you about this fandom more." For some people, fandom is solely about fandom; they have other friends for other types of conversation.

Take a compliment as it's intended, not how you want it to be. I've been fortunate enough to have many people call me their favorite writer in different fandoms, and I could give a shit if they don't read everything I write, because I recognize and appreciate that they took the time to read/recommend/comment on something I put effort into. A lot of writers aren't so lucky.

Like I said in the edited portion of the comment: if the person tells me they're interested in everything I write, regardless of it's fandom or not, then I expect them to be interested in everything I write. And when then tell me "I want to get to know you more," I expect them to actually care about me as a person, not me as a fandom entity. And, again, the person didn't say I was their favorite writer for that fandom, but instead said that I was their favorite writer period.

I understand where you're misunderstanding, but short of actually going through and finding comments to copy and paste for you (which I'm not going to do), I don't know how else to make you understand this. Believe me, I know the difference between someone who is interested in just fandom and someone who's actually interested in having an actual friend, and I take compliments as they're given. This is a special case. This is someone who capspazzed all over me, specifically said they were interested in me as a person and liked my writing regardless of whether it was fandom or not, and then didn't. Basically, the person was just really, obviously fake, and I came to appreciate their compliments less because of it, because said compliments seemed less genuine.

Again, it's not that the person was only interested in fandom. I know lots of people that are. That's fine. I accept that. I just don't like being lied to.
