Really! There's no subtext at all, Aya and Youji barely interact and even when they do it's usually almost entirely businesslike, they never spend time together unless they have to, they're certainly not 'best friends' unless the definition for friendship has changed considerably since I last looked and if Aya and Youji are best friends than what the Hell are Youji and Ken? Married? I have no idea where it comes from! I can understand that Aya and Youji look hot together, but what else is there? Is there anything else? If there is, it's entirely passed me by...

Ken/Yohji is probably the only Yohji pairing in the entire series that I even half-like, so I hear you though personally I'm more inclined to say Ken and Omi have the closest bond amongst the four, I can at least see Ken and Yohji as being friends. Aya/Yohji and Aya/Ken boggle the mind until the end of Gluhen. I feel the same way about any pairing between a Weiß and Schwarz. The only way to pull it off is with an incredible degree of skill and forethought.
