The only way I've ever been able to see it was if Aya took an off the cuff flirtatious remark from Yohji seriously (because lets face it, the man could flirt with a fence post, and Aya is a bit socially retarded.) Then again, I tend to ship Aya with Schwartz members, so I might have no room to talk.

I've never gotten why everyone loves Megatokyo so much. To me, it seems like the epitome of American otakuism, complete with fanspeak and mock-anime art that... isn't really that great! I draw mock-anime style too, but the stories and characters I draw don't endorse American otakuism and dumb crap like that, and they actually look like real people.

Also, my characters actually have eyes.

I doubt I'd ever take up comicing, because I'd suck at it, but I've seen far better anime-style comics than Megatokyo. Ones that actually have story, too.

And 8: That can't be it. I don't even liuke Naruto, but I've noticed that the dub is pretty damn impeccable with getting names and pronunciations down. The announcer between commercials isn't great, but the show itself, I haven't heard a Sah-SOO-kay or a Nay-ROO-to yet.

I ship Aya/Yohji not because it's canon, but because I think it could make sense given their personalities. Because Yohji is observant enough to figure things out about Aya if given the chance and horny enough to notice how freakin' gorgeous Aya is (I tend to make all such playboy-type characters either bi or at least willing to try anything once), because Aya would never take the risk with anyone but a teammate and might even grow to depend on Yohji...not because there are hints for it, but because I think it could work even though there aren't.

And because it's pretty. That's definitely a part of it. And also probably because their personalities both appeal to me a lot more than Ken's and Omi's do.

It sounds like you haven't found the awesome goodfics that are out there for them. I can provide recs if you're actually interested.

There's no subtext at all, Aya and Youji barely interact and even when they do it's usually almost entirely businesslike, they never spend time together unless they have to, they're certainly not 'best friends' unless the definition for friendship has changed considerably since I last looked and if Aya and Youji are best friends than what the Hell are Youji and Ken? Married? I have no idea where it comes from! I can understand that Aya and Youji look hot together, but what else is there? Is there anything else? If there is, it's entirely passed me by...
